EQIPOS DE VIDEO BROADCAST

Electronic Program Guide Server

The Electronic Program Guide Server (EPG Server) is capable of producing and generating all the necessary contents to broadcast through its ASI or IP output, the Electronic Program Guide. To achieve this objective it is important to count on a reliable system, that is expansible and of a reasonable cost. In this sense, Videoswitch has developed an ideal solution based on cost-benefit relation.

Advantages

Videoswitch's EPG Server will allow you to edit the entire programming grid, letting you add transports, services, and events as you want, including those that are not considered by your data provider. This way you can add the programming of your local channel without any inconvenience.
Besides, you will be able to vary the data speed to regulate the bandwidth usage and decide which information to send and which not to send. And the most important feature is that you will be able to configure the size of the text fields of the guide's contents so they do not exceed the storage capacity of your Set Top Boxes and thus avoid undesired behaviors.
Videoswitch's EPG Server is the most versatile of the market and is the only one that allows configuring and editing all the parameters of the Electronic Program Guide.

ELECTRONIC PROGRAM GUIDE SERVER
Features
  • Table and Descriptors generator in compliance with DVB, ISDB-T, and ISDB-Tb standards.
  • Creates and generates static and dynamic SI tables (Service Information), in compliance with the ETSI EN 300 468, ARIB STD-B10, and ABNT NBR 15603 specifications.
  • Tables generation for multiple transports and networks over a unique output interface DVB-ASI or IP, through the pre-configurable PIDs' mapping for each table and transport.
  • It can generate NIT (Network Information Table), SDT (Service Description Table), EIT (Event Information Table), TDT (Time Date Table), and TOT (Time Offset Table), with their corresponding descriptors.
  • It Generates EIT-P/F (Event Information Table - Present/Following), as well as the EIT-S (Event Information Table - Schedule), both for the actual transport (Actual TS), as well as for other transports (Other TS).
  • Possibility to configure which tables and descriptors to generate, as well as to control the repetition rate for each table independently, this way achieving a better bandwidth usage.
  • Flexible configuration of the range of days for which the EPG is generated, starting from 1 to 7 days and optionally up to 64 days.
  • Possibility of configuring in a dynamic way the amount of characters to be included in the text fields of the EIT tables, allowing thus to regulate the volume of data generated, adjusting to any memory capacity of the Set Top Box.
DVB TABLES GENERATOR
  • Data import for the EPG through XML files, and other formats (optional), through multiple devices (for example, LAN, FTP, DVD, USB, etc.).
  • Importing filters configuration, which allows the detection of overlapping and discontinuities in the imported events for each service.
  • Client/Server architecture, with Central Data Base and optionally one or multiple remote editor terminals.
  • Possibility of generating the EPG for more than one net, through the use of multiple instances, allowing the configuration of the parameters of each of them independently.
  • Importing and exporting of the configuration through XML files.
  • User administration and actions registration for each of them.
  • Dynamic and intuitive graphic interface.
  • Scalable and configurable.
